IG100 gas fire suppression system

Nitrogen (N2), also known as IG100, uses nitrogen—a gas that makes up 78% of the atmosphere—as its extinguishing agent. This product fully integrates the design principles of modern fire suppression systems, successfully combining environmental protection with highly effective firefighting capabilities. It features characteristics such as safeguarding the Earth’s ecological environment, ensuring safety and hygiene without obstructing visibility, leaving no residue or damage caused by extinguishing agents, and maintaining long-lasting extinguishing effectiveness. Nitrogen can be separated from air, making its source widely available and its refilling costs low.

Detailed description

   Overview

Nitrogen gas (N2), also known as IG100, uses nitrogen—a gas that makes up 78% of the atmosphere—as its extinguishing agent. This product fully integrates the design principles of modern fire suppression systems, successfully combining environmental protection with highly effective firefighting capabilities. It features characteristics such as safeguarding the Earth’s ecological environment, ensuring safety and hygiene without obstructing visibility, leaving no residue or damage caused by extinguishing agents, and delivering long-lasting fire suppression performance. Nitrogen can be separated and produced from air, making it widely available and inexpensive to refill.

IG100 is a major component of air. It has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of 0, a global warming potential (GWP) of 0, and an atmospheric lifetime of zero—meaning it has no adverse impact on the environment. IG100 is colorless, odorless, and non-toxic; not only is it harmless to humans, but it also does not produce any chemical substances during firefighting, thus avoiding secondary contamination of equipment. When discharged, it exhibits no atomization, does not obstruct visibility, and ensures that personnel can evacuate safely and in an orderly manner.

   Fire extinguishing principle

When the fire suppression equipment is in automatic control mode, if a fire occurs within the protected zone, the fire detectors will send a fire signal. The alarm control panel will immediately emit audible and visual alarms. Upon receiving two independent fire alarm signals, the gas fire suppression controller will issue a联动 (interlock) command to shut down the associated equipment. After a 30-second delay, the controller will issue a fire suppression command, opening the corresponding solenoid valve for the protected zone, activating the driving gas. The driving gas, via the initiating pipeline, will open the appropriate selector valve and container valve, releasing the extinguishing agent to carry out fire suppression.

   Scope of application

  ● Suitable for extinguishing the following types of fires

  ● Electrical fire

  ● Liquid fires or fires involving fusible solids

  ● Solid surface fire

  ● Gas fires that can be extinguished by cutting off the gas supply before firefighting.

  ● Suitable for protecting enclosed spaces; typical locations include:

  ● Protection zones for fires involving explosive gases and liquids

  ● Libraries, archives, records, and collections of cultural relics, etc.

  ● Oil-immersed transformers, switchgear rooms equipped with oil-filled switches, and premises housing standby generators, etc.

  ● Communication equipment rooms and electronic computer rooms, etc.
