IG541 gas fire suppression system
The IG541 fire suppression system uses an IG541 mixed-gas extinguishing agent composed of three atmospheric gases—nitrogen (N2), argon (Ar), and carbon dioxide (CO2)—in proportions of 52% ± 4%, 40% ± 4%, and 8% +1%–0.0%, respectively. This extinguishing agent operates via a physical mechanism: it extinguishes fires by reducing the oxygen concentration in the air within the combustion zone. It is characterized by being colorless, odorless, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and non-polluting. Its ozone depletion potential (ODP) is zero, and its global warming potential (GWP) is also zero. As such, it is a green fire suppressant and an ideal replacement for halons.

Overview
The system consists of a fire-extinguishing agent storage cylinder assembly, container valves, check valves, selector valves, actuation devices, manifold pipes, pressure-reducing devices, signal feedback devices, nozzles, and a control system.
Fire extinguishing principle
When the fire suppression equipment is in automatic control mode, if a fire occurs within the protected zone, the fire detectors will send a fire signal. The alarm control panel will immediately emit audible and visual alarms. Upon receiving two independent fire alarm signals, the gas fire suppression controller will issue a联动 (interlock) command to shut down the associated equipment. After a 30-second delay, the controller will issue a fire suppression command, opening the solenoid valve corresponding to the protected zone, activating the driving gas. The driving gas will then pass through the initiating pipeline to open the corresponding selection valve and container valve, releasing the extinguishing agent and thereby suppressing the fire.
Scope of application
● Suitable for extinguishing the following types of fires
● Electrical fire
● Liquid fires or fires involving fusible solids
● Solid surface fire
● Gas fires that can be extinguished by cutting off the gas supply before firefighting.
● Suitable for protecting enclosed spaces; typical locations include:
● Electrical and Electronic Equipment Room
● Communications Equipment Room
● The national repository for protected cultural relics, including metal artifacts, paper and silk products, and audiovisual archives.
● Flammable and Combustible Liquid Storage Room
Hazardous areas where flammable gases are present and where people frequently work—such as protected zones—can have their sources of flammable and助燃 gases shut off before the fire-extinguishing agent is released.
